    White cotton quilt with geometric shapes and all the names of the congregation embroidered in red. (From Deed of Gift) - One autographed quilt. Made by the ladies of the Presbyterian Church in Brougham in 1897. The names were sold at 25 cents (and up) each and the proceeds were used to pay for work in the church. 1897 was the year of Queen Victoria's Jubilee.     Quilt is made up of scraps of material in a pattern of numerous squares. On one side is a heavy red border with lines of pink and beige floral pattern. Backing has strips of fabric with Queen Victoria and rose, thistle and shamrock. Batting is with white wool blanket bits.

Handles are carved wood and the drawers are decorated with hand carved filligree.
